Lagos, Nigeria – Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023 and former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, joined a distinguished gathering on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024, to celebrate the life and legacy of Emeritus Professor Akinjide Osuntokun at the launch of his biography, The Noble Academic and Patriot.
The event, held at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos, drew notable figures like Chief Emeka Anyaoku, former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Pastor Tunde Bakare, and Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, former Governor of Ekiti State.
In his remarks, Obi highlighted the importance of celebrating a scholar and academic in today’s society. While admitting he did not know Professor Osuntokun personally, the numerous testimonials from his students and colleagues underscored the profound impact of his work.
