Obi Donates Millions To Schools In Anambra State, Underscores Commitment To Education
Awka, Anambra State – Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has made significant contributions to two educational institutions in Awka, highlighting his continued commitment to education and development in Nigeria.
During a visit to St. John of God Secondary School for their 60th-anniversary celebration, Obi presented a cheque of 15 million Naira to the school on behalf of Mrs. Bridget Egodi Egbujiobi, an alumna of the institution.
The donation was made after Mrs. Egbujiobi, during a recent visit to the United States, expressed her pride in her alma mater and her desire to contribute to its success.
Obi, in his address to the students, emphasised the importance of taking education seriously, particularly skills acquisition, as a foundation for future success.
Later, Obi visited the new Regina Caeli School of Nursing, where he contributed 10 million Naira in support of its operations.
“My commitment remains steadfast: to support critical areas of development in education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation,” Obi stated, underscoring his dedication to fostering a better future for Nigerians.
This latest act of philanthropy reinforces Obi’s long-standing commitment to improving educational opportunities in Nigeria.
His contributions to these schools are expected to have a significant positive impact on the lives of students and the communities they serve.
