Zulum Approves Major Infrastructure Projects In Uba: Hospital, Schools, And Emir’s Palace

Uba, Borno State – The Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the rehabilitation of critical infrastructure in Uba, including the Uba General Hospital, township road networks, and eight primary schools.

The governor also announced the construction of a new palace complex for the Emir of Uba, Alhaji Ali ibn Ismaila Mamza.

During a visit to Uba on Saturday, Zulum emphasised the need for comprehensive rehabilitation of the General Hospital, including furniture and adequate staffing.

He also directed the employment of four medical doctors to bolster the hospital’s workforce.

“Uba is a city. Doctors can come and stay, and we will give them good remuneration,” Zulum said. “We must ensure enough medicine and consumables in this hospital.”

The eight primary schools set for rehabilitation include Uba Central Primary School, Mufa A Primary School, Kuma Primary School, Masil Primary School, Uba Marghi Primary School, Low-Cost Primary School, Kwarghi Primary School and Mufa B Primary School.

The governor stressed the need for adequate teachers in these schools and directed officials to ensure their deployment.

Zulum’s visit to Uba was part of his ongoing tour of the Southern part of the state to assess ongoing projects, coordinate policy implementation, and approve new infrastructure initiatives.

In addition to the aforementioned projects, the governor also directed the construction of a deep aquifer borehole for the High Islamic College, Uba, and a new secondary school in Uvu village, Askira-Uba Local Government.

He also approved the rehabilitation of the central primary school in Uvu.

The governor concluded his visit with a homage to the Emir of Askira, Alhaji Dr Albdullahi Mohammed Askirama II, and spent the night in Askira town.

These latest developments are a significant step towards improving healthcare, education, and infrastructure in Uba and Askira-Uba Local Governments.
