Peter Obi Pays Tribute to Late Abia Governor, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu
Uburu, Ebonyi State – Former Anambra Governor and Presidential candidate in 2023 election, Peter Obi, has paid tribute to the late Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, former civilian Governor of Abia State and ex-Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Obi, who attended Onu’s funeral ceremony in Uburu, Ohaozara LGA, Ebonyi State, described the deceased as an “exceptional being” who exemplified selfless leadership.
He highlighted Onu’s positive impact on the lives of many and lauded his dedication to peace, good governance, and national development.
“Dr. Onu stood for justice and demonstrated unwavering commitment to fairness and equity in the nation,” said Obi in a statement posted on his X handle.
“He pursued many initiatives to boost local production for national development, showcasing his commitment to building a productive nation.”
Obi expressed his sadness at Onu’s passing, calling it a “great loss to the country.”
He prayed for strength for the bereaved family and for the eternal rest of the departed soul.
Dr. Onu’s death has been widely mourned across the country. His legacy of public service and dedication to national development will continue to inspire generations to come.
