Peter Obi Honours Ooni Of Ife’s 50th Birthday, Commissions Oduduwa House In Ile-Ife
Ile-Ife, THE NEWSHAUS – Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi, today embarked on a journey from Lagos to the ancient city of Ile-Ife, honouring the invitation to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Dr Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II.
The visit also saw the commissioning of the newly built Oduduwa House, a generous donation by Sir Dr. Kensington Adebukunola Adebutu, the Odole-Oodua.
“May God Almighty continue to bless His Imperial Majesty and the good people of Ile-Ife, and may the Oduduwa House be a source of inspiration, Unity and Progress for the Oodua family and Nigeria in General,” said Mr Obi in a statement released on his verified X handle.
He concluded with his campaign slogan, “A New Nigeria is POssible.”
This visit comes on the heels of a demanding schedule for Mr Obi, who travelled to Jigawa State earlier this week to offer condolences to the governor and families who lost loved ones in a tragic tanker explosion.
Despite the exhaustion, Mr Obi made the long road trip to Ile-Ife, highlighting his unwavering commitment to public service.
Dr. Mo, Mr. Obi’s aide, lauded his commitment to the people of Nigeria, emphasising his dedication to public service and his ability to remain steadfast in the face of adversity.
“What stands out is Mr. Obi’s ability to remain steadfast and unshakable, regardless of the challenges he faces,” Dr. Mo stated.
He went on to describe Mr Obi as the individual with the “mental strength, physical resilience, character, consistency and compassion to unite this nation, tackle Nigeria’s complex issues, and lead us toward a more prosperous future.”
Dr. Mo concluded his statement by issuing a challenge to any individual in Nigeria to match Mr. Obi’s level of dedication to serving the people.
The visit to Ile-Ife further underscores Mr Obi’s commitment to strengthening unity and fostering progress within Nigeria.
Stepping forward to unveil the Oduaa House
The commissioning of the Oduduwa House, a symbol of unity and cultural heritage, marks another step in his ongoing efforts to bridge divides and inspire a brighter future for all Nigerians.
