Dr. Μo Lauds Peter Obi For Swift Action In Wake Of Jigawa Tragedy
Dutse, THE NEWSHAUS: Following a tragic tanker explosion that claimed the lives of over 180 people in Dutse, Jigawa State, former presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi has been commended for his swift response and call for action.
Dr. Mo (Moses Paul), a prominent figure on social media, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his support for Mr. Obi’s compassionate visit to the site of the tragedy. “Thanks, Mr. @PeterObi, for always holding the nation close in both heart and action,” Dr. Mo wrote.
Dr. Mo praised Mr. Obi’s heartfelt condolences to Governor Alhaji Ahmed Namadi and the people of Jigawa, emphasising the tragic loss of young lives in the incident.
He also highlighted Mr. Obi’s call for improved infrastructure, stricter safety regulations, and sustainable livelihoods, describing them as “urgent truths” that demand immediate attention.
“This is not the moment for empty words; it is a time for decisive, meaningful action,” Dr. Mo stated, echoing Mr. Obi’s call for a collective response to the escalating frequency of such tragedies.
He urged governments at all levels to prioritise the safety and welfare of their citizens.
While expressing grief for the victims and their families, Dr. Mo concluded by emphasising the need to work towards a future where such tragedies are no longer a reality.
“We must commit ourselves to working towards a future where tragedies like this are no longer a reality,” he wrote.
Mr Obi’s visit to Jigawa and his subsequent calls for action have sparked nationwide conversations on the need for enhanced safety measures and infrastructure improvements, particularly in areas prone to such accidents.
His actions have been praised by many for demonstrating leadership and empathy at a time of national tragedy.
