Moniepoint Empowers Women, PLWDs With Financial Literacy, Cyber Hygiene Initiative
Abuja, Nigeria – Moniepoint Inc, Africa’s fastest growing financial institution, in partnership with ACIOE Associates and Tech4Dev, recently hosted a two-day workshop in Abuja, empowering women entrepreneurs and People Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) with financial literacy and cyber hygiene skills.
The initiative, which drew over 100 participants, focused on equipping small and micro-enterprise owners with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the evolving digital business landscape.
The workshop, conducted through practical sessions and interactive activities, delved into key aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and cybersecurity.
Participants gained insights into managing finances, accessing credit, and protecting their businesses from online threats like phishing scams and malware.
Organisers emphasised the crucial role of financial literacy in driving economic growth and inclusion.
Tosin Eniolorunda, Group CEO of Moniepoint Inc, highlighted the link between financial literacy and empowerment, particularly for women, stating, “When women understand financial concepts, they are better equipped to manage their finances, access financial services, and build wealth…This gives them the impetus to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations and contribute more significantly to the economy.”
Recognising the unique challenges faced by women and PLWDs in the business world, the workshop emphasized the need for tailored solutions.
Innocent Isichei, Managing Partner of ACIOE Associates, emphasised the importance of creating a secure online environment for these groups, stating, “By building a secure digital ‘fortress,’ women can confidently navigate the online environment, safeguard their businesses, and leverage technology for growth.”
The workshop received positive feedback from participants, who lauded the organisers for their commitment to supporting the economic empowerment of women and PLWDs.
Equipped with newfound skills and knowledge, these entrepreneurs are now better prepared to thrive in a dynamic and digital economy.
This initiative serves as a testament to the importance of investing in financial literacy and digital security, particularly for vulnerable groups.
By empowering women and PLWDs with these essential skills, Moniepoint, ACIOE Associates, and Tech4Dev are contributing to a more inclusive and prosperous future for all.
