Ejiofor, IPoB Lawyer, Sounds Alarm On Insecurity In Southeast, Celebrates Ozekhome At 67

Onitsha, Nigeria –  Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the legal counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB), has decried the escalating insecurity in Anambra State and the Southeast region.

In a press statement, Ejiofor described the situation as “critical and alarming”, emphasising the need for immediate and decisive action.

Ejiofor highlighted the alarming frequency of kidnappings, acts of violence, and widespread lawlessness, creating an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among residents.

He stressed that the current crisis is a result of the failure to take timely preventive measures against growing criminal networks.

“The security of our people and the future of our region must be placed on top priority,” Ejiofor stated.

He called on Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and all political, traditional, and community leaders in the Southeast to rise to the challenge and address the alarming situation.

“On behalf of the responsible people of Anambra and the entire South-East, I demand immediate and resolute action to eliminate these criminal elements and restore law, order, and stability,” he added.

In a separate development, Ejiofor joined numerous Nigerians in celebrating renowned legal luminary and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN, on his 67th birthday.

Describing Ozekhome as a “visionary legal mind, distinguished author, tireless advocate for human rights, and a fearless voice for justice,” Ejiofor commended his dedication to the pursuit of justice and his positive impact on the legal landscape in Nigeria.

Ejiofor further praised Ozekhome as a mentor and boss, expressing gratitude for his guidance and the opportunities he has provided.

“His example reminds me daily that the pursuit of justice is a noble and selfless calling, one that demands both conviction and compassion,” Ejiofor said.

He wished Ozekhome continued strength, wisdom, and many more years in good health, hoping that his legacy will continue to inspire.
