NDDC Emphasises Strategic Partnership With NIPR To Enhance National Image
Port Harcourt, Rivers State: The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has emphasised the need for a strategic partnership with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to bolster the nation’s image and attract international investment.
This call was made by the Executive Director, Corporate Services, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, during a courtesy visit by the NIPR Rivers State Chapter, led by their Chairman, Mr. Francis Asuk, to the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt.
Abegunde, representing the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, highlighted the critical role of reputation management and the expertise of NIPR in maintaining a positive national image.
“A well-managed reputation can attract international investments, while a negative image can deter potential investors,” he stressed.
Abegunde encouraged the NIPR delegation to formalize their partnership proposal with the NDDC.
Mr. Asuk, the NIPR Rivers State Chairman, explained that the delegation was seeking the NDDC’s participation and sponsorship for the upcoming NIPR 2024 Week, themed “Rebuilding National Reputation through Business Integrity and Public Trust.”
He noted the relevance of the theme to the NDDC’s mission, particularly in strengthening the relationship between the oil-rich Niger Delta region and the Federal Government.
“We believe that the NDDC’s involvement will significantly contribute to rebuilding the nation’s reputation,” Asuk stated, expressing confidence in the partnership’s potential.
The meeting concluded with both parties acknowledging the immense potential of a collaborative effort to foster trust and strengthen the nation’s global image.
Abegunde expressed a keen interest in forming a strategic partnership between the NDDC and NIPR, making the meeting highly productive.
This partnership signifies a proactive approach by the NDDC to address reputation management and build a stronger, more positive image for the Niger Delta region and the nation at large.
