Federal Government Vows To End Insecurity in North West As Matawalle Embarks On Security Assessment Tour

Sokoto, Nigeria – The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has assured the people of North West that the Federal Government will not rest until peace is restored in the region.

Dr. Matawalle, who is currently on a comprehensive security assessment tour of the region, emphasized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to ending insecurity across Northern Nigeria.

The Minister’s tour, which began in Sokoto State, included visits to several communities affected by banditry, including Gundumi, Isa, Turba, Sabon Birni, Hawan Duro, and Mai Lalle.

Dr. Matawalle engaged with local residents, promising increased military presence, improved infrastructure, and the reopening of key roads, such as the Gundumi-Isa route.

“The President is fully committed to ending insecurity in Northern Nigeria, and we are here to ensure that no stone is left unturned,” stated the Minister during his visit to Gundumi village.

He further pledged the establishment of new military camps in strategic locations to bolster regional security.

Dr. Matawalle expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by military personnel, urging communities to cooperate with security agencies.

He highlighted the Federal Government’s dedication to restoring peace in the North-West, assuring displaced residents of their safe return home.
