Tech Firm Unveils Sure Drivers App, A Digital Shield Against Road Transportation Crimes
Abuja, Nigeria – Sure Switch Tech, a leading non-governmental organisation (NGO), has launched the Sure Drivers Solution App in a bold move to combat the growing threat of road transportation-related crimes.
This innovative app, which was unveiled at a ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday, promises to revolutionise road safety while also contributing significantly to economic growth.
At the event, Mr Chukwuma Ugbah, CEO of Sure Switch Tech, emphasised the importance of transportation in driving commerce, tourism, and daily life.
However, he acknowledged the widespread threat of criminal activity, which looms over travellers and commuters.
“The transport sector, which is supposed to be a symbol of safety and mobility, is frequently undermined by threats,” said Ugbah.
“We are at a watershed moment in which technology, particularly digital driver identification, provides powerful solutions.
Sure, Drivers is the solution to this pressing issue. We must adopt innovative strategies that use technology to protect road users and deter crime before it occurs.”
Ugbah emphasised the transformative potential of the Sure Drivers app, particularly its AI-powered features.
Ugbah stressed that the success of Sure Drivers relies on a collaborative effort: “The future of road safety lies in embracing innovative solutions like AI.
We must work together – governments, the private sector, and the public – to make our roads safe from kidnapping, robbery, and other vices.”
The launch event also witnessed the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between Sure Switch Tech and its key partners, solidifying the commitment to the project’s success.
Mr. Idris Adamu, State Secretary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers FCT Council, emphasized the importance of public safety, expressing the council’s dedication to the project’s success.
Nollywood actress Rita Daniels, the brand ambassador for Sure Drivers, reiterated the need to prioritize safety for economic and national development.
Passengers are urged to scan the QR code on the Sure Drivers app before entering any taxi within Abuja.
Drivers are advised to encourage passengers to use the app for their own safety, preventing them from unwittingly transporting criminals.
The launch of Sure Drivers marks a significant step towards creating a safer and more secure road transportation system in Nigeria.
This innovative app holds immense potential to empower passengers and deter criminal activity, contributing to economic growth and fostering a sense of confidence for all.
