NDDC To Establish ICT Centre For Baptist High School, Port Harcourt
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has pledged to build a state-of-the-art Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre at the Baptist High School in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
This commitment was made during a recent visit to the school by the NDDC management team, led by Managing Director Dr Samuel Ogbuku.
The visit, part of the NDDC’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, highlighted the importance of investing in education for the future of the Niger Delta region.
Dr Ogbuku, during his visit, emphasized the significance of ICT skills in today’s world and expressed his belief that the new centre will provide students with the tools they need to succeed.
“We have come and we have seen,” Dr Ogbuku told the students. “On behalf of the NDDC Board and Management, I announce that we will build an ICT Centre here.
“We will also renovate the school’s science building and the laboratory and install solar street lights on the school premises.”
The NDDC’s commitment extends beyond the ICT centre. The commission will also be providing a donation of 10 desktop computers, 20 bags of rice, other foodstuff, and a cash donation of N2 million to the school.
This investment in education is a testament to the NDDC’s dedication to the development of the Niger Delta region.
The school’s old boys association, represented by National President Prince Ifeanyichukwu Ejiofor, expressed their gratitude for the NDDC’s support and highlighted the need for further assistance in equipping the school’s science laboratory.
The NDDC’s visit to the school comes as a powerful reminder of the importance of education in shaping the future of the Niger Delta.
This investment in the Baptist High School is a significant step towards creating a brighter future for the students and the community as a whole.
