Buhari Congratulates APC, Okpebholo On Edo State Election Victory
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo of Edo State.
In a statement released by his media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari described the victory as a “prized, historic electoral victory” and expressed hope that it will usher in a new era of progress for Edo State.
“Congratulations to the APC and the election winner, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on the historic electoral victory, and best wishes for a new lease on life for Edo State and its people,” Buhari stated.
He emphasised the importance of unity and cooperation, urging both winning and losing parties to work together to strengthen democracy and keep the state on track for development.
Buhari also praised law enforcement agencies for their efforts to ensure a peaceful election and election officials for their ongoing dedication to improving the electoral process.
He ended his message with a prayer for continued progress and development in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, under the democratic system.
