2024 ARCHIBUIT EXPO: Julius Berger-AFP Products Wow Ex-Vice President Sambo, Architects
- At AFP, Sustainability Is Central To Everything We Do–Julius Berger
Former Vice President Namadi Sambo has praised Julius Berger Nigeria Plc’s furniture production subsidiary, AFP, for producing high-quality furniture comparable to imported brands.
Speaking at the recently concluded 2024 Archibuilt Expo organised by the Nigerian Institute of Architects in Abuja, Sambo, who is also an architect, stated, “With this Julius Berger Furniture division in Nigeria, there will be no need to import furniture from any country into Nigeria because I know they will always deliver their best.”
Mr. Mathias Braun, AFP’s Head of Installation, who met with the former Vice President, told Sambo that, in response to the high demand for its products, AFP opened branches across the country to provide customers with access to quality and durable furniture, as well as related professional products and services.
Our various branches for this purpose can be found in our showrooms in Abuja (53 Gana Street, Maitama District Abuja); Lagos (33 Sanusi Fafunwa Street, Victoria Island); and Port Harcourt (52 Stadium Road, Rumuola, Port Harcourt, Rivers State). Braun stated that visiting our showrooms for your domestic, office, and industrial furniture needs is a worthwhile experience.
However, the former Vice President was not the only one who praised AFP products. Arc Biodun Owoborode, CEO of OAK Development LTD, expressed satisfaction with AFP’s products and praised their high-quality finish.
Continuing, Owoborode stated, “To begin with, I have always been impressed by the outcome of your product, the precision. Not only is precision important, but so is how your product ultimately improves the outcome of the space. You understand, it has always been impressive. As an architect, my design style has always been minimalist, which is very similar to what AFP does. So I do not play with AFP.”
Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, Arc Mobolaji Adeniyi, FNIA, and other architects praised AFP products.
AFP’s General Manager, Oliver Cohnen, stated during his presentation on the second day of the three-day event that the company has been a leader in the West African furniture manufacturing industry for more than 30 years. AFP has grown to be one of the largest and most influential furniture manufacturers in the region. Our factory, a centre of innovation and craftsmanship, employs nearly 400 skilled professionals who are committed to maintaining our reputation for excellence, he said.
As a subsidiary of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Cohnen stated that AFP continues to benefit from the vast resources and expertise of one of the most respected names in the construction industry. The affiliation, according to the General Manager, strengthens AFP’s capabilities and reinforces its commitment to providing superior products and services. He also stated that its three strategically located showrooms in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt are more than just display spaces, but rather a testament to our diverse range of products and the high standards we maintain.
Cohnen also stated that sustainability is at the heart of everything AFP does.
We are deeply committed to environmental responsibility and strive to reduce our ecological footprint. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in the materials and manufacturing processes we use. We choose eco-friendly materials that not only meet high quality standards but also contribute to a cleaner environment. Our manufacturing processes are designed to reduce waste and energy consumption, which contributes to our goal of environmental stewardship, he said.
Amidst applause from his audience, the General Manager explained that, in addition to our commitment to quality and sustainability, we are constantly investing in cutting-edge technologies and techniques to improve our manufacturing capabilities. This investment ensures that we stay at the forefront of the industry, able to meet our customers’ changing needs while maintaining our reputation for excellence.
Cohnen stated that one of the company’s core strengths is its ability to create custom-built furniture that perfectly matches the specific needs of its clients. From one-of-a-kind furniture pieces to comprehensive furnishing solutions, we collaborate closely with our customers to realise their visions. This personalised approach ensures that each project is tailored to the unique needs and preferences of the client, resulting in an end product that exceeds expectations.
In conclusion, he stated that AFP is more than just a furniture manufacturer; we are a market leader driven by a commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. Our rich history, combined with our commitment to excellence, distinguishes us as the top choice for discerning customers throughout West Africa. We look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence while also contributing to our clients’ success and satisfaction.
