Adrian’s decision to return to Spain means Vitezslav Jaros, a young custodian, will be promoted to third-choice.

Liverpool and Adrian parted ways after a five-year partnership on Sunday. The 37-year-old is expected to return to Real Betis and continue his playing career.

Jaros is expected to fill a gap in the goalkeeping lineup alongside Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher.

According to the Mail’s Lewis Steele and the Athletic’s James Pearce, the Reds “intend to promote” Jaros into the first-team setup as Arne Slot and Co. “put their trust” in him.

He is a homegrown talent and a valuable asset, and he is currently enjoying his summer break after participating in Czechia’s Euro campaign, which ended in the group stage.

The 22-year-old had a successful loan spell with Sturm Graz in the second half of last season, making 21 appearances to help the club win the Austrian Bundesliga, ending Salzburg’s run of ten consecutive titles.

With experience and homegrown status, he is viewed as a strong candidate to train alongside Alisson.

Kelleher has expressed a desire to be a No. 1 and has received transfer interest, but according to the Mail, no club has made a serious commitment to buy him.

Liverpool want at least £25 million for the Irishman, and if that figure is not met, they will not be forced to part ways with a ‘keeper who performed admirably last season.
The upcoming season will feature a new-look goalkeeping department, with Fabian Otte taking on the role of lead goalkeeper coach upon his return from his work with the USA at the Copa America.

With Claudio Taffarel still in Brazil, academy custodian coach Mark Morris has been in charge of pre-season training with the first-team squad, which includes Kelleher, Marcelo Pitaglua, Fabian Mrozek, and Harvey Davies.

Jaros is expected to join the group late next week. In a May interview with This Is Anfield’s Bence Bocsak, he stated that it is “good to see there is a pathway” to the first team, and now his opportunity has arrived.
