Turkey, Yobe Government To Collaborate On Agricultural Initiatives
Mr. Hidayet Bayraktar, Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, has said that Turkey is ready to collaborate with the Yobe State government on agriculture to explore the state’s large arable lands and other agricultural potentials.
He addressed the issue Friday when paying a courtesy call to Governor Mai Mala Buni.
Mr. Bayraktar stated that Turkey is willing to give machinery and other technical support to the state, while the state administration will supply the necessary acreage for the programme.
The Ambassador praised the state government for its determination to improve the face of agriculture in the state.
Governor Buni responded by stating that the initiative would create work possibilities for the state’s youngsters.
“The state is focusing on a massive agricultural revolution, and this collaboration would support us to engage our youth.
“The government is committed to improving agriculture to enhance food sufficiency and food security,” Governor Buni said.
He assured the state administration’s commitment to meeting its duties in cooperation with the Turkish government.
“We would follow it to the letter for the benefit of our state and people,” Governor Buni vowed.
