Mr. Osarenren Derek Izedonmwen, the governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the September 21 election in Edo State, aims to break the cycle of economic stagnation by investing in agriculture to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

If elected governor, Izedonmwen promised to prioritise industrialisation and infrastructure development and strong security measures to ensure growth and stability.

“The vision for Edo State is clear—to transform the state into a beacon of economic resilience through strategic investments in agriculture, industrialisation, and infrastructure, all underpinned by an unwavering commitment to security,” he said.

“This comprehensive approach will not only stabilise the Edo economy but will also serve as a model for the rest of Nigeria.” However, implementing these plans requires not just any leadership, but the right leadership.

“Edo requires leaders who understand not only what needs to be done, but also know ‘how’ to carry out these plans effectively. Leaders who are deliberate, focused, and tenacious in their pursuit of rapid growth.”
