NiDO Worldwide Appoints Victor Ubani As Coordinating Chairman
Nigerians in the Diaspora Organisation (NiDO) Worldwide has appointed Dr Victor Ubani as its Coordinating Chairman till December 2024.
According to a statement issued by NiDO on Monday, Ubani’s appointment, which will last until December 2024, takes effect immediately and is based on the organization’s policy of rotating leadership across continents.
“Ubani’s appointment follows NiDO Worldwide’s tradition of rotating the chairmanship among its six continental chairs.
`Ubani who is the Continental Chair of NiDO Americas takes over from Mr Titus Alagba his counterpart from Africa,” the statement said.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ubani stated that he accepted the appointment and saw it as a call to higher service.
He promised to collaborate with NiDO members worldwide to redouble efforts and harness Nigerian Diaspora human capital, economic, and technological resources for Nigeria’s development.
He also urged NiDO stakeholders to work together to make the organisation stronger and more impactful.
“It is NiDO America’s turn, which is how I got it. I urge Nigerians in the Diaspora to collaborate closely with me.
“We have so much potential in Nigeria, and we do not have to suffer; even if we do not have enough crude oil, remittances from the Diaspora will suffice.
“I need full cooperation from Nigerians in the Diaspora over the next six months, and I promise to do everything I can to make meaningful progress in the organisation,” Ubani said.
