Dabiri-Erewa Congratulates Imafidon On Appointment As Youngest Chancellor In UK
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), has congratulated Dr. Anne-Marie Imafidon, MBE, on her new appointment as Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University in the United Kingdom.
In a congratulatory message, Dabiri-Erewa said Dr. Imafidon’s appointment as Chancellor was well deserved given her background and drive for success.
The NIDCOM chief stated that Nigeria is proud of Anne-Marie’s genius achievements in breaking records and setting unimaginable standards at such a young age, which have earned her the prestigious assignment to continue serving humanity.
While praying for Imafidon’s success and impactful tenure, Dahiru-Erewa acknowledged receiving her invitation to attend the prestigious Chancellor’s installation on July 2 as a special guest of Dr. Anne-Marie Imafidon, stating that it is a great honour for her.
She urged her not to rest on her laurels as a trailblazer and to continue to inspire others to be the best they can be in all they do.
Imafidon is now the youngest Chancellor of a major university, having previously been the youngest leader of a non-private university and the youngest scientist to become Chancellor of a multidisciplinary university.
Her siblings participated in the ExcellenceInEducation.org.uk mentorship programme, which helped her achieve this feat. A programme that helps inner-city children.
While there, she became the youngest person to achieve an A-Level in computing and mathematics, and she was awarded a scholarship to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA, at the age of 13.
In detail, Dr. Anne-Marie said, “Being welcomed to an institution that stands for the Common Good is one of the greatest honours of my life.”
