APC Chieftain Urges Youth Group To Take Lead From Kenyan Youths And Demand Good Governance From Tinubu
Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has called on the All Progressives Congress’s Young Leaders Forum (APC-YLF) to channel their energy against the trend of abject poverty that has pervaded the country, as well as the concern of insecurity, which has exacerbated the food crisis and significantly contributed to the rise in the price of basic commodities.
He claimed that millions of Nigerians now go to bed hungry, and that an unspecified number of people die from hunger every day.
He urged them to be responsible, as Kenya’s young people have demonstrated extraordinary resilience in their engagement and pursuit of accountability from public officials.
Eze, the former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP), refuted the nondescript group’s deliberately fabricated falsehood against former Transportation Minister Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Describing their allegation as a whistle blown on pure mendacity to persuade the former Rivers Governor to make public comments about Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in the heat of the biting hardship occasioned by the current government’s shallow economic policies, Chief Eze said the incognito group failed to support their futile assertions with the slightest shred of proof.
The APC – YLF falsely claimed that Mohammed Bello-Koko, the managing director (MD) of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), is a stooge of former Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, and has committed wholesale fraud under Amaechi’s aegis, so he should be fired.
In their wild goose chase, the group, through its National Coordinator, went so far as to accuse Bello-Koko of avoiding prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) through the former Minister’s help.
In a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze stated that Amaechi does not have the power to exempt himself, let alone another, from investigation if the occasion arises. He also questioned the source of the information the faceless group is using as a weapon against the former Minister, who served with flying colours and a standing ovation from citizens, urging Nigerians to discard the trending trash.
He stated that no responsible Nigerian youth or group of youth would abandon real issues in pursuit of shadows like the APC-YLF, especially at a time when the country is confronted with the challenges that come with policy summersaults and failed leadership, such as increased poverty, hunger, starvation, job loss, and a downward trend in the currency on the global money market.
Dismissing the call to sack NPA MD. Bello-Koko as hateful, Eze stated that Koko is one of the few serving in the current government who are attempting to give the I regime a human face in the midst of the national crisis, and that any move to relieve him of his appointment would undoubtedly exacerbate the woes of the APC-led federal government.
