Fagbemi Urges Hospital Heads To Key Into Sustainable Healthcare Agenda Of ‘Omituntun 2.0’
Dr. Akin Fagbemi, Chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board, has urged all heads of secondary facilities in the 44 hospitals to support Omituntun 2.0’s healthcare agenda.
Fagbemi stated this during the first strategic meeting with hospital heads and the board of directors since taking office on June 21st at the Koltol Hotel in Ikolaba, Ibadan.
The Chairman took the opportunity to thank Governor Seyi Makinde for the opportunity and trust placed in him to lead the Hospital Management Board at this time, as well as his generosity in approving the recruitment of various categories of health workers.
He informed everyone that Governor Makinde’s decision to bring him to the Hospital Management Board was deliberate and that it was nothing more than a diligent pursuit and realisation of the Omituntun 2.0’s sustainable healthcare agenda.
Fagbemi took the opportunity to thank the Commissioner for Health for stepping in to supervise the Hospital Management Board in the absence of a sitting chairman.
He also thanked all of the development partners who had supported health programmes and initiatives over the years.
Following an extensive and exhaustive engagement with the head of facilities, he stated unequivocally that the Governor appointed him to lead the Hospital Management Board at this time because he wants to see visible impacts and improvements in our services and public perception.
As a result, he said it will not continue to be business as usual. He highlighted some policies that must take immediate effect, including any donation, intervention, or support from philanthropists and well-meaning citizens should be formally reported to the Board so that it can be properly appreciated and recognised, as well as brought to the Governor’s attention.
