Prof. Akin Abayomi, Lagos State Commissioner for Health has explained why Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, a leading engineering construction firm, is the preferred contractor for relevant jobs in the state.

Speaking at the recent kick-off of the rehabilitation of the 10-story Lagos General Hospital, the commissioner stated that the company has long been tried and tested and found to be capable of handling the rehabilitation work and that this project is critical to the Lagos state government, particularly in light of the recent tragic fatal incident at the facility.

Prof Akin Abayomi then asked Julius Berger to create a suitable work plan for the project, keeping in mind that the safety of the resident doctors is critical because the hospital is a busy place with many patients and doctors coming and going.
