Borno Governor, Zulum Employs 15 People With Disabilities
Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum has approved the employment of 15 people with disabilities who hold bachelor’s degrees, NCEs, diplomas, and vocational training certificates.
The governor approved Maiduguri on Friday night at the Government House.
He said, “I am delighted to note that, despite your disability, you people are not lazy; you have decided to pursue your education, for which I applaud you.
“I directed the Commissioner of Education to process your employment application for my approval right away. As a result, I would like to bring to your attention that you should be on the Borno State Government payroll beginning May 1st, 2024, in sha Allah.
He directed Engr Lawan Abba Wakilbe, the commissioner of education, to conduct a review of all blind schools in Borno State in order to train more people with disabilities.
Zulum also directed the Ministry of Education to develop plans for teaching special education courses at the Bama College of Education.
“I am pleased that they have completed their qualifications in various specialisations. Let us strengthen Bama’s College of Education so that we can begin to offer special education courses,” Zulum ordered.
Earlier in his speech, Borno State Branch Chairman of the Nigerian Association of the Blind, Mohammed Mustapha, thanked Governor Zulum for approving employment for his members.
