Eze Commends Gov. Fubara For Justifying Confidence Reposed On Him By Demonstrating Capacity In Governance Of Rivers
Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has extended a warm commendation to the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, for his broad sense of reception that has brought Rivers people of diverse tongues, political leanings, and religious inclinations together under a common front for the actualization of the lofty ideals of a resourceful,
In a statement made available to the media, the APC Chief said Fubara’s bold initiatives in the face of stifling opposition and vile bickering instigated by political merchants have sent his traduces into slumber and established the fact that his peaceful mien, which is mistaken for cowardice, is a natural physique that connotes bravery.
leadership and maturity, emphasising that this uncommon quality has endeared him to the good people of Rivers State, particularly men of goodwill such as former Governor Peter Odili and others.
Eze stated that with the support of Odili and the floodgate of approvals he receives from among the youth and women, the Governor has an ironclad assurance that the crafty’s devices will be disappointed, preventing their hands from carrying out their evil enterprise against the state.
It is both pitiful and sad, and, in fact, of unblessed memory, to recall that Wike focused his eight-year regime solely on the construction of flyovers in Port Harcourt and Obio-Akpor LGAs, at the expense of the other 21 LGAs. Important road networks in PH, Obio-Akpor, and the other 21 LGAS have been left in disrepair, such as the 5-kilometer-long Okania-Ogbogoro Road in the Garden City’s Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, which was recently awarded by Governor Fubara.
Further hints on the road can be gleaned from the comments of the Permanent Secretary in the Rivers State Ministry of Works: “…the project was previously awarded to Nugi Nigeria Limited on April 12, 2017, and partial work was completed until 2020 when the contractor abandoned the project,” he stated.
“The major sections of the road, including the internal community roads, have all collapsed as a result of neglect since then.
“However, due to the outcry of residents and commuters over the ongoing construction of the Port Harcourt Ring Road, the road is being considered for reconstruction.
“The Council has approved a total of N6.7 billion for the road contract award.” The construction period is expected to be only five months.”
Similarly, Eze expressed delight at the 100% increase in the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), which remained at a staggering N12 billion during Nyesom Wike’s administration. He attributed the feat to the success of Gov. Fubara’s efforts to remove cankerworms, caterpillars, and other treasury looters from the state’s coffers.
Recall that the state Governor announced early last week during a meeting with the leadership and members of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts that his administration has increased the state’s IGR to N27 billion, up from N12 billion under the Wike administration. The new figure represents more than a 100% increase in IGR.
Eze stated that the revelation places a burden on relevant federal government agencies to investigate the shady deals carried out during Nyesom Wike’s kleptocratic administration – a vulgarly pretentious rabble-rouser.
Furthermore, the APC Chief expressed delight at the award of a contract for the construction of the 33.5-kilometre-long Elele-Omoku Road for N80.8 billion and a 24-month completion period.
Aside from the significant economic benefits of the road, he stated that when completed, it will significantly reduce the difficulty farmers face in transporting farm produce into towns, as well as ease daily human and vehicular movements within and beyond the shores of benefiting towns.
All of these projects are funded with savings from the state’s internal revenue. Briggs stated that the project spans from Elele to Umudioga, Egbeda, and Ubumini to Omoku. The total length of the project is 33.5 kilometres. There is an existing road there which is just 7.3 meters wide, but with the new design, the road is mapped for dualization and that would be achieved within a couple of months.
The Governor has achieved laudable feats in the health sector – with the emergence of Rivers State as South-South zonal winner of the Primary Healthcare Leadership Challenge convened by UNICEF, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Aliko Dangote Foundation and the Nigerian Governors’ Forum.
According to the Commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Oreh, a new partnership has begun between the State Government and UNICEF to donate an oxygen manufacturing plant and equipment for the newborn neonatal unit at Eleme General Hospital, which will be handed over soon.
The Commissioner also revealed that the State School of Nursing was recently upgraded to the College of Nursing Sciences, with admission capacity increased by 142% and a 400-capacity classroom block under construction for both midwifery and nursing students.
Eze stated that the achievements of the Fubara administration, which is still in its prime, are legion, and the people of the state can only be grateful for the multi-With the sector-specific sterling initiatives and interventionist projects of their leader, who is working to justify the people’s trust. trust in him.
