APC Responds To Ganduje’s Suspension, Bans Surrogate Ward Leaders For 6 Months
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Kano State Chapter wielded a big stick on Monday against the APC Ganduje ward leaders who had previously suspended the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Abdullahi Abbas, the party’s state chairman, who hosted reporters in his office shortly after an emergency meeting of the party’s State Working Committee, accused Inusa Sulaiman Dawanau and his cohorts of anti-party activities.
Talking tough Abbas stated, “We have it on good authority that these disloyal members of the group have been lobbying the ruling NNPP-led administration in the state to carry out a destabilisation act within the party.
He stated, “We have evidence of meetings between State Government officials and those who suspended the National Chairman, and the State Working Committee has agreed to sanction them for six months, and they stand suspended.”
Alhaji Abbas stated that they have since adopted the recommendation and decisions of the Local Government Party Leaders to suspend the errant ward officials and that the party at the state level is currently investigating the culprits’ anti-party activities.
Earlier, the Chairman of the APC Ganduje’s Ward, Inusa Suleiman Dawanau, announced the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for alleged corruption.
The legal advisor to the party at the Ward level
Halliru Gwanjo stated that the party decided to suspend Dr Ganduje due to allegations of bribery levelled against him by the Kano state government and that the suspension began on Wednesday.
Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had previously been suspended from his party at the ward level due to allegations of corruption.
The ward officials explained that their decision was based on the Kano State government’s findings, which indicted Ganduje for a variety of corrupt practices.
Members of the Ganduje Ward in Kano’s Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area suspended Ganduje on Monday, April 15.
Halliru Gwanzo, the ward’s legal adviser, announced while speaking with journalists in Kano on Monday.
Gwanzo cited allegations of bribery against Ganduje made by the Kano state government as the basis for his suspension.
“We decided to suspend Dr. Ganduje from the party due to the gravity of the allegations against him,” Gwanzo explained.
He stated that the suspension would continue until he cleared himself of the allegations.
