How Armed Suspected Yoruba Nation Agitators Invade Oyo Govt Secretariat, Engage Security Operatives In Gun Duel
In the early hours of Saturday, some men dressed in military camouflage and armed with rifles stormed the state government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan.
The gunmen, who were fully armed with pump action rifles and masks, were repulsed by joint security operatives on the scene to maintain law and order.
As of the time of writing this report, there was a heavy presence of security personnel at the Secretariat’s entrance, and sporadic gunshots echoed through the air.
The police officers on duty fired teargas canisters into the air to scare some of the suspected agitators who were outside the Secretariat gate away from the premises, while one inside the main Secretariat engaged in a gunfight with a security officer.
As of the time of writing, the exchange of gunshots was still going on, and motorists around Agodi Axis saw people scrambling for safety.
