Gov. Buni, man of the people

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has urged everyone to take the lessons of sacrifice, care, and compassion learned during the fasting period beyond the month of Ramadan.
The governor congratulated the Muslim faithful on completing the one-month Ramadan fast and prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to accept every act of worship performed by the people during the holy month.
Buni’s spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, said in a statement on Tuesday: “As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of the one-month religious obligation, I enjoin us all to carry the lessons of sacrifice, care, and compassion demonstrated during the fasting period beyond the Ramadan season.
“I am especially impressed by the massive feeding programme provided by the government, individuals, and corporate organisations to orphans, impoverished families, and vulnerable groups. This should be encouraged even after Ramadan.”
He also urged Muslims to be good neighbours and spread the spirit of the season to their neighbours, while commending the state’s security agencies for their valuable contributions to the state’s peace and stability. He also reminded the people to continue praying for the unity, peace, security, and prosperity of Yobe State and Nigeria.
He expressed the gratitude of the government and the people of Yobe state to Almighty Allah for the improved peace and security now enjoyed across the state.
The governor said the government would this year launch a massive agricultural programme to facilitate an agricultural revolution in Yobe state to enhance food sufficiency and security.
“I wish to use this opportunity to appeal to the good people of Yobe state, especially our energic youth, to take advantage of this intervention to explore, exploit and expand the agricultural potentials in your various communities,” he said.
“Our government is committed to making agriculture more productive, appealing, and profitable in the state. This is to promote food sufficiency and security in the state” Buni said.
He also assured the people that the government would continue to provide the infrastructure required to accelerate development and improve people’s lives.
“I pray that everyone has a peaceful and memorable Sallah celebration.”
