On Easter Sunday, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate for the 2023 election, visited Onitsha Central Mosque in Anambra state to pray with them for a united Nigeria.

In a press statement issued by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, Chief Spokesman, Obi stated that the visit was necessary to demonstrate all religions’ commitment to Nigeria’s unity and growth.

Obi wrote on his X handle, “In continuation of my Easter activities today, after sharing the Easter joys with the inmates of Onitsha Correctional Centre earlier in the day, I was also at the Central Mosque, Onitsha to pray with the Muslim Community in the City who are in the last ten days of Ramadan fasting.”

“It was heartwarming to see how they were able to make good use of the limited resources I gave them last year for mosque renovation.

‘I took the time to remind them, and every Nigerian, of the importance of transcending religion and tribe and working hard for the development of our beloved country in unity and brotherhood.

‘I took the time to remind them, and every Nigerian, of the importance of transcending religion and tribe and working hard for the development of our beloved country in unity and brotherhood. As I have always maintained, no religion, tribe, or political party can buy food cheaper anywhere in Nigeria. For the sake of society, we must work together to shift our country’s consumption to production mode.

‘I gave my little Easter gifts to the community and thanked them for their kind words, encouragement, and prayers.  We will build the New Nigeria together.
