Buhari’s Minister Taunts Tinubu: ‘You Have Snatched Power, Oya Perform Your Lagos Miracles.’
Solomon Dalung, Minister of Youths and Sports Development during President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term, has urged him to perform what he calls “Lagos miracles.” Tinubu served as the governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.
During his campaign for the highest office in the land, Tinubu emphasised that he had transformed Lagos into a model for good governance, infrastructure renewal, and innovation, and that he should be given the opportunity to replicate this in Nigeria.
However, the president’s policies have not addressed Nigerians’ needs and, in some cases, have exacerbated the country’s problems. Some of Tinubu’s allies blamed it on the past.
Senator Gbenga Daniel, a senior member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), recently claimed that Tinubu inherited a dead economy.
However, in a series of posts on X, the former minister described President Tinubu’s administration’s consistent attempts to blame Buhari for Nigeria’s economic challenges as hypocritical.
Dalung stated that if Tinubu’s administration had devoted the same resources and effort to addressing security and economic issues as it did during elections and tribunals, significant progress would have been I.
He believes that blaming Buhari for economic woes will not alleviate the people’s hardships.
While acknowledging Buhari’s failure to deliver on the “change” promise, Dalung insisted that Tinubu’s government bears responsibility for Nigeria’s economic woes due to its reckless policies.
He wrote that blaming #MBuhari for economic woes does not address the people’s economic situation.
“Can bulk trading be the sole solution for #officialABAT and his economic team? Urgent prescriptions are required in the present situation. Hunger & high cost of living is at unbearable level. “The attempt to change narratives of #officialABAT from “don’t pity me, I look for the job and got it” to blaming Buhari by #Bwala #Daniel #aonanuga1956 & Co travellers is uncharitable hypocrisy, #officialABAT knew all these problems, yet “he snatched power and run away with it. “An empty stomach does not listen to the voice of the gospel, the echoes of concerns especially traditional rulers cannot be ignored.
“I lend my voice to it, #officialABAT hunger is a recipe for disaster, can you sit back at home and engage broadly if your wisdom cannot provide solutions?
“If #officialABAT deploys the same energy, knowledge, tactics & money during elections & tribunal to deal with Nigeria’s security & economic challenges, things will change. Why has the steam suddenly changed to blaming Daura? You have snatched power, oya perform your Lagos miracles.”
