Jürgen Klopp Provides Update On Darwin Nunez, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota’s Fitness
Following Liverpool’s 4-1 victory over Brentford on Saturday, Jürgen Klopp provided an update on the condition of Darwin Nunez, Curtis Jones, and Diogo Jota.
The trio all suffered knocks at Gtech Community Stadium, forcing them to leave the pitch.
Jones and Jota were taken off during the first half, and Nunez was replaced at the break. All will now be evaluated further by the club’s medical team.
In his post-match press conference, Klopp stated: “We have to see how much it costs us – we do not know yet.
“Curtis was hit on the lower part of his shin, or above the ankle. We will see what it means. It was how he felt, but he was not sure. The fact that Curtis is unable to play indicates that something is wrong because he would have played at any cost.
“Diogo looks the worst; I did not see it back, but I heard the pictures were not great either, so we will have to see.
“Darwin, we took off because he felt really a little, but it was enough to immediately push the break, so we took him off and brought Cody on, and it worked out well.”
When asked if Jones was on crutches after the injury, Klopp replied, “Yes, but that is normal. I have not spoken with him yet because I am too busy here in the stadium doing interviews and such.
“I do not know how it progressed in the second half because I saw him at halftime when things were going well, but I am not sure what happened after that.”
